Have you ever heard of Pinot Camp? I am sure some of you have, it is said to be one of the best workshops to attend for anyone in the wine industry. It is held annually by fifty of the best producers throughout the Willamette Valley in Oregon. The first two days of camp are full of small workshops, tastings and dinners galore. The third day is a workshop of your choice and let me tell you, every workshop sounds phenomenal. A couple of the options include taking a hike to the top of a vineyard and then enjoying oysters and wine, another allows you to travel around Portland stopping at some of the best restaurants to enjoy local foods paired with a variety of local beverages, the list goes on and on!
Because of all the praises I’ve heard I decided to go ahead and apply for the chance at an all expenses paid trip to attend the camp this year. The application was pretty painless. All I had to do was provide a brief workplace history, a list of certifications, and a brief explanation of what job I’ve held (within the industry) that had the most impact on my understanding of wine.
Applications were due by May 5th but it didn’t tell you when you would hear back so I am trying to be patient. I assume it will take a few days to get through all the applications, surely they have thousands to sift through. I just hope they let you know the results either way so your not left hanging, I promise to keep you all posted.
